Detailed Description: One-of-a-Kind Fuel-Injected Six-Passenger Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 Red Betty – a 1984 Jeep Scrambler Laredo, customized with six-passenger seating and a modern Cherokee engine and 5-speed. Less than 28,000 of these special long-wheelbase Jeeps were ever built, and if you live in NOVA, you may have seen her around. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter SUV’s, here’s the Jeep you’ve been waiting for! See Here. What’s her story? This jeep was literally found rotting away in a barn (cliche but TRUE, she was discovered nearly undriveable in Lake Hopatcong NJ). Now she’s mechanically almost new, just breezed through inspection (although she's actually exempt from emissions as an '84, she passed anyway), and did a 600 mile trip to Kitty Hawk last week purring like a cat. Beneath the hood is the fuel-injected 4.0 liter and AX-15 five-speed taken from my own one-owner 1998 Cherokee. The drive train, including a complete new clutch assembly, was swapped in by the Jeep-obsessed guys at Mount Zion Offroad less than 3K miles ago, including a complete new cat-back exhaust. (See the swap Here). She started life as a black two-seater, later fitted with a bad back seat and a broken hard top that didn't fit right. Now, she's bright red (actually it's the "Flame" red from a 2005 Jeep Liberty) and fitted with a full length Bestop soft top and four matching (and very hard to find) black and silver laredo seats, with tip-up mounts in front (both sides) and two fold-and-tumble rear seats.

Detailed Description: I bought this jeep two weeks ago from the original owner. its been sitting in his warehouse for 11 yrs. its all original, original paint, stripes, tranny, motor. it runs and drives extremely well. this jeep was loaded out from the factory leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped grab bar, tach and clock, tilt steering wheel, a/c, auto tranny..this jeep has NO bad rust anywhere it does have some minor surface rust but no cancer... the paint isn't perfect but is really good for a 27 year old vehicle.... call if you have any questions or need to see more pics

All other NEW parts installed( receipts go with jeep) clutch, pressure plate, t/o bearing, starter ring on flywhell, distributer, fuel pumping. coil, water pump, all sending units oil & temp, belts & hoses radiator rodded and cleaned, plugs, cap, rotor, wires! New carb & clutch linkage on order and go w/ jeep! All warranty info and receipts will be forwarded to new owner! This jeep also has one piece rear axles! This is a very nice jeep specially for the price! The only other things that I can think of that I would replace would be to up date the brake hoses and put some different tires on it ! If you are looking for a great jeep around this price you need to make the drive to look at this one ! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!! Very rarely does a jeep like this come on the market. This 1982 Scrambler has been completely redone (restored is to much of a understatement ). A frame off rebuild from the suspension to the engine, from the seats to the undercarriage, everything has been stripped, painted, replaced or upgraded. A 6000 dollar paint job, all hardware replaced with stainless steel, new bushings throughout, transmission rebuilt, front and back shackle reversal, a 3 inch lift kit, new skyjacker 7000 shocks, tube bumpers, k/c slim lites, stainless steel exhaust tips. custom made black locust with stain glass inlaid bed rails (will never rot). Undercarriage, bed, fender flares and cab are rhino lined. Steering wheel, shift knobs and arm rests are walnut. Seats and door panels are custom designed and match the center consul and dash pad. the engine is a chevy 350 short block that has been modified with a performance cam, chrome performance intake manifold, chrome 4 barrel edelbrock carb, chrome valve covers, chrome power steering pump and reservoir chrome......you get the idea....its all chrome or stainless. the v belt has been replaced with a March serpentine belt conversion (3,000 dollars). The radiator has been replaced with a Be Cool aluminum radiator and stainless steel resevoir. The cooling fan is electric. This vehicle handles like a 2007 and flies. There is no shake or shimmy at greater than 100mph. The only time this truck sees off the road is when I load it onto the trailer to take it to shows. Last year it took 2nd place at the largest jeep show on the east coast. It hasn't had more than 900 miles put on it since the rebuild. This jeep was the feature article in JRations magazine issue #4 "SCRAMBLED TO PERFECTION".
