Description

This jeep was just on ebay and I was flooded with scammers and false bids. Trying this avenue to see if anyone is serious about buying a great jeep. A great value for someone, over $30K invested. 1977 Jeep CJ7. Professionally restored by well know jeep restoration expert Brian Hainer, owner of Brian's 4wd Parts, LLC. This was a low mileage original V8 equipped jeep which was in good mechanical shape but rusted very badly. Full details of the build are available and if you need specific information email me at metalshaper@comcast.netEvery last nut and bolt was disassembled, cleaned, rebuilt, painted, and reassembled. Here are the specifics of this jeep.VEHICLE........... 1977 Jeep CJ7ENGINE............. AMC 304 V8 (complete rebuild)ASPIRATION......Offenhauser Dual Port Intake Manifold, with Holley 390cfm CarburetorEXHAUST........ HPC Coated Headers with Borla Stainless Steel Mufflers/Pipe. This vehicle has catylitic converters.TRANSMISSION.. T-150 3 speed (complete tear down and rebuild)TRANSFER CASE... Dana Model 20 (complete tear down and rebuild)AXLES........... AMC 20 Rear, Dana 30 Front. Complete disassembly and rebuild 4.10:1 Gears installed.SUSPENSION ..... Rancho 2.5" lift springs and RS 5000 shocksTIRES/WHEELS.... Aluminum 15x8 Ultra wheels with 33x12.50 Goodyear Wrangler ATPAINT ............ Bright Calypso Green, Base/ClearThe build began with a NOS frame direct from Jeep. Axles rebuilt with 4.10's . Transmission and transfer case were in great shape and new bearings installed. AMC 304 underwent a complete rebuild. Finished out with Offenhauser intake and aluminum Valve Covers. Going with the "old school" look I kept the original air cleaner. Mallory mechanical distributor installed with Taylor 8mm wires. Everything else associated with the engine was replaced, water pump, fuel pump, radiator, etc... The original body was shot so I installed a Fiberglass tub. I had in stock a very old 4 wheel drive hardware body with a tailgate opening and fit that to the chassis. The older bodies that they made were much better than the new ones if you have seen any lately. I pulled a NOS Jeep Tailgate from the parts bin and fit that to the body. The hood, fenders, windshield frame are all fiberglas as well. The grille is the original with the jeep. I kept the 60/40 bench seat and had it recovered in Black. There have been about 5000 miles put on this jeep since the restoration and every last bug has been worked out..... this jeep is ready to drive and enjoy. I did put a top on this Jeep a while ago but didn't keep it on. I believe I still have it and if I find where I put it I will include it with the sale. There is a 5th wheel and tire but I don't have it mounted on the jeep, it normally just sits in the back. Also included are some roll bar saddle bags which I just found in good used condition. They will need to be cleaned up but I think they will keep with the "old school" theme of this jeep. There are stainless steel brake and fuel lines installed. I am running Silicone Dot 5 Brake fluid in this jeep, as the header is close to the proportioning valve and I didn't want heat problems. Clutch is a centerforce model, but very easy on your leg. If you need any further details just email me and I will do my best to answer them. You are welcome to come out to see the jeep in person if you like. I did notice a small drip from the rear end when taking the photographs. I will drain the fluid and replace the gasket before it leaves. Also I don't keep a battery in it during the winter, but I will install a new Optima Battery for the new owner after the sale. Includes the original jack, lug wrench, and original bag. Also, being this is a very early 1977 model it came with a 1976 shop manual. I have a couple NOS shop manuals still in the factory wrapper and will include one with this jeep. The original owners manual and service specs are included also and are shown in the photos.
