You can see more examples of their work at austinjeeps.com. Crossman Appraisal Service in San Antonio, Texas did the appraisal (Oct 2005) and determined the fair market value at $22,850.00. The odometer reading at the time was 61,188 and is now 63,492 (actual/original) miles. The only thing I have changed since purchase was to add a set of 6x9 speakers and speaker boxes behind the seat and to install a windshield track and bikini top (also included is the original hard top). I paid $20,000 for the Jeep and with tax, tag and license it totaled $21,369.05. The speakers, boxes and bikini top with windshield track all add up to about $225.00. There’s only normal wear and tear (very little since I’ve only put 2,304 miles on it over the last 4 years). It has always been garage kept, serviced regularly and generally babied. I have only had it off road on smooth surfaces just to run the 4x4 as to keep the bearings and seals lubricated. The Jeep has three things wrong with it; there are a few drops of oil off the back of the engine (probably the rear main seal), the lock on the center console does not work (there’s no keys) and the A/C has a Freon leak (I haven’t had it fixed because I never use it). That’s it. Everything else is in excellent working order. Because the price I’m asking is so low the Jeep is being sold as is. The features: factory front disc brakes, tilt steering, tachometer and clock (OEM equipment but installed during the restoration), all new seals on all windows, new windshield, all new brake and fuel lines, Ranchero shocks, 32 x 11.50 x 15 BF Goodrich tires on the ground and a 31 x 10.50 x 15 on the spare, new exhaust system, Line-X in the bed and floor, new hoses under the hood, a new 4.2 Liter engine block was used on the engine rebuild, a brand new A/C system under the hood with all interior parts (fan, vents and control panel) original to the CJ from another donor, new brakes, universal joints, nice factory front and rear bumpers with hitch, all new rubber bushings up top and all polyurethane bushings underneath, paint that was matched to the original factory code (Midnight Blue), the dash is original with no cracks and the original wood side panels for the bed are included and were redone (sanded and stained) by Austin Jeeps . Look, it was done right and I’ve treated it right. If you have any more questions I’ll be glad to answer them, just give me a call. This Jeep is great, the price is great and I’ll deal straight up with you. This thing has obviously increased in value over the last two years and serious buyers are welcomed to schedule appraisals and/or mechanical inspections at any local dealer/garage at any time, I will accommodate them. I need to sell it because just sitting in the garage is not good for it (that’s why the rear seal started leaking) and I’m willing to make a great deal to the rig! ht buyer (someone who seriously wants a nice CJ-8, has the money and doesn’t waste my time). The buyer is responsible for any costs associated with shipping or delivery. The Jeep is sold as is with no warranty implied or otherwise. If you call and get our machine please leave your name and number and we will call you back. |
