Moab Jeep Jamboree 2009 If you are into four wheeling, biking, hiking or pretty much anything outdoors and you haven’t been to Moab Utah you need to put it at the top of your list for places to visit! The Jeep Jamboree held there every October is pretty much the end of the season stop for wheelers wanting to attend one of Jeep Jamboree USA’s many events held across the country. This year we attend and worked the event as the last stop on our around the country Jeep tour and this was the last of 7 events that we hit as we made our way from coast to coast.
Cumberland's Jeep Jamboree These poor people thought they were just going out for a day of wheeling until they were on their back after lunch only to find that their only way out has literally been washed away. Cliff Hanger is a trail that you go halfway and stop for lunch and the only way out is back the way you came in. After a couple Jeeps tried to plow through the muck and became stuck the great trail guides on this trip sprung into action and began the winching process. The mud holes became so deep from the continuing rains that sink holes developed and at one point they actually had to cut down trees to fill the void and build a crossing to get the folks out.
French Lick Jeep Jamboree 2009 The added moisture on the trail this year changed everything!! The trails actually had turned into creeks that made the mud holes deeper, the off-camber spots that much more difficult and the couple trails that were for the modified groups became trails of destruction. “Randy’s Ravine” one of the trails for the modified group is usually tough enough just trying to negotiate around the rock ledges and boulders but was a virtual running creek bed this year.
Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree 2009 This year was the 20th anniversary of the Maine Mountains Jeep Jamboree and it is clear why this event has been so popular and sells out almost every year and has stayed on the roster. The setting and ambiance of the area is just phenomenal, the guides and coordinators do a great job and are a blast to hang out with so it is easy to understand why so many people return to this event year after year.
Catskills Jeep Jamboree 2009 This year’s event was another sold out show and everyone was excited and ready to hit the trails on Friday morning. The Monticello area has some surprisingly good wheeling with trail variations from gentle trail rides to trails that offer enough trees, root systems, rocks, ledges and mud holes that the participants have plenty of obstacles to choose from and if they want to test their rigs and their own driving capabilities they can certainly do so.
Ouray Jeep Jamboree 2009

Ouray is again a great place to hold the jamboree and it is understandable why they have been holding them there for the past 22 years and will almost certainly continue to do so. In addition to the great wheeling that can be found around the area there are several small communities that provide visitors with places to shop, eat and there are a few micro breweries in the area that are fun places to visit and take in some of the local flavors of beer.

Texas Spur Jamboree 2009

Typically the fall temps in the area are still in the 80’s and 90’s with dry conditions but this year the conditions were far from normal or typical. With almost a week’s worth of straight rain the dry, sandy creek beds that were normal parts of the trail became water crossing obstacles while other spots and areas became impassable.

Big Horns Jeep Jamboree 2009

Wyoming has always been thought of and known for its wide open spaces, wildlife and scenic beauty. That combination is what prompted several places around the state to want to host a Jeep Jamboree and the decision was made to have one in the Big Horn Mountains just outside of the town of Sheridan, Wyoming. Bear Lodge  is surrounded by National Forrest and Wilderness area and has numerous areas for getting out on the trail in a Jeep and seeing some great scenery and wildlife.

Killington Jeep Jamboree 2009 This year the temps were just right, cool enough to start the day out with a long sleeve shirt and warming up enough by mid day to be comfortable in just a t-shirt the conditions couldn’t have been better for the first days trail rides. The trails system here is winding with some off-camber situations and various obstacles from tree roots to rocks, when a few Jeeps have gone over and the loose dirt begins to get on them as well as the leaves and other vegetation that clings to the tires the difficulty can increase on each obstacle very easily and quickly.
Drummond_Island_Jeep_Jamboree_2009

June 2009 we headed back to Drummond Island in Michigan for another Jeep Jamboree… Your first reaction is probably a one of doubt and disbelief. Yes, Michigan has islands! People often think of the Great Lakes but with those come several small islands. Located on the Upper Peninsula, Drummond Island is an outdoor paradise made up mostly of dense underbrush, Pine, Aspen and other trees with several trails that wind in and out and down to the waters edge for some spectacular views and picture ops.

Pine Barrens Jeep Jamboree 2009 Wheeling with the guys in Jersey this year was as good as last if not better and with all of the recent rains and the draining of the Cranberry bogs the trails were completely overrun with water. The biggest majority of the obstacles in the Pine Barrens Jeep jamboree each year are the water holes, this year some of the holes were 3 to 4 feet deep with a big part of the roads that make up the trail system also being covered with a good 1 to 2 feet.
French Lick Jamboree 2008 There is no question why this jamboree always has great attendance and so many of the attendees have returned to this one year after year. Having a jamboree in the fall where the colors are changing is certainly an attraction that brings people there for the first time but it’s the location and the trail crew that keep these participants happy.  With trails ranging from easy, for the first time off-roaders to the washed out ravines, mud and rock climbs that keep the modified veterans entertained.
Snowshoe Jeep Jamboree 2008 The Jeep Jamboree USA trip held in the mountains outside of Charleston at the Snowshoe Ski Resort and hotel is an extremely popular event. The trails wind in and out of the ski runs, up hills and down into valleys where the scenery is equally exciting yet very diverse. The tops of the hills provide breathtaking views that go on for miles, in the mornings the clouds hang low in the hills and create islands of mountain tops surrounded by seas of cloud.
Pine Barrens Jeep Jamboree When you think of rock crawling or wheeling, New Jersey is not the first place that comes to mind. The wheeling out there is much different since the total change in altitude is about 30 feet, but on the other hand there are mud holes with sandy bottom pits that can prove to be a very challenging obstacle for even the most experienced of wheelers. These are not the type of mud holes that you get past with excessive throttle and muscling your way through.
Top of the Ozarks Jeep Jamboree The folks at Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch have created an incredible park to go wheeling at. Brandon and Mike Powell, Rob Hartman, and Bruce Asplin have made extensive efforts to make sure that their patrons not only have a great place to wheel, they have insured that while they are staying at the park they will have the most modern and convenient comforts available to them during their stay.
18th Annual French Lick Jamboree Many of the trails were scenic wandering through the rolling hills and trees and the colors were changing, but not as brilliant as they normally see due to the lack of moisture this year, yet it was still very serene and picturesque. The trails varied from milder for some of the stock vehicles which were very scenic with some minor obstacles, to some good challenging creek beds and ravines that became hard work for some drivers.
Northwoods Jeep Jamboree 2007 One would wonder what kind of wheeling Wisconsin may have to offer but there is a great variety of options out in the area where the jamboree has been held and any of the trails offer participants of all experience-levels something that will keep them visually entertained as well as technically challenged as they progress through the woods over the weekend.
2007 Texas Spur Jeep Jamboree With dense vegetation and incredible amounts of rock this is one jamboree that really tests driver’s abilities and their vehicles limitations. Not an event that one will get bored on quickly since there are many challenging obstacles, off camber situations and at times the combination of both as well as steep climbs and equally steep descents.

2008 Jeep KK Liberty press roll-out Although there have been mixed reviews by many about the Jeep Liberty KJ’s we are now starting to see many more of them out on the trails. Now that they have been out for a few years there are more after market products available for them and many that bought them for other purposes than wheeling are finding out that they do have capabilities even when there were, and are still nay sayers of its capabilities.

Drummond Island Jeep Jamboree 2007

The Drummond Island Jamboree is set in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This is another jamboree that is nestled in a thick wooded area with plenty of wild life, views and scenery to take in. This year was an exception to the norm with dryer conditions than normal as well as higher temps than usual, but it was still a great weekend. Many areas of the trails are usually wet or under water by a few inches, this year there was a few mud holes to slop around in but for the most part is was dry.

Oak Ridge Jeep Jamboree 2007 The Oak Ridge Jeep Jamboree this year was great; it took place in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains of middle Virginia in Nelson County. This area is made up of two mountain ranges, The Blue Ridge and The Shenandoah, between the two is the famed Shenandoah Valley. The jamboree took place on a private ranch that was open up for the event and a perfect setting for what we had in mind for the weekend.

Jeep JK Wrangler press roll-out In August, 2006 our very own Will Morgan received an invitation to be a part of the 2007 New Body 4 door JK Wrangler Press Roll Out.  Following are some pictures and a brief write-up from Will on his experiences...
2,200 miles in our 1948 Willy's We didn't just want the Jeep, we wanted the opportunity to meet with an honored and decorated WWII Vet and listen to him tell 59 years worth of Jeep stories...talk about the ultimate Jeep junky.  Taking possession of the Jeep was just the icing on the cake.

On May 10, 2007 we flew to Tallahassee, FL and then drove the Willys back to our shop in Arizona, which took 2 weeks at it's top speed of 35 mph.  We have tons of pictures, video and details of our adventure posted here.

Rocky Mountain House Jeep Jamboree Rocky Mountain House, Alberta Canada - August, 2005

Sadly, this was to be the last Jeep Jamboree in Alberta due to the environmentalists ranting about how off-roading is destroying the world as we know it.  If only they knew exactly how much work the staff did before and after each event to benefit the environment by cleaning up garbage, planting tree's and many other things that even they (environmentalists) don't do.
