This is the last year of production for the Jeep CJ series and this Jeep comes from Arizona and has no rot anywhere. The top and doors were added along with the snowplow to clear my driveway the last couple of winters and has seen light duty use on this Jeep. Once the bad weather is gone the top and doors come right off and it is a great summer vehicle to get around in. It has the the excellent Dana 44 rear differential with the thicker axle tubes and factory 1 piece axles. It has a good running 258 6 Cylinder, excellent T176 4 speed transmission and power steering. Very clean under the hood with a new HD 3 row radiator and hoses. It has original CJ logo high back seats in good condition and a matching fold and tumble rear seat. (see picture in listing) It was brought to Texas then sold to a local gentleman who wanted to make it a nice daily driver. Here`s where the fun began! He decided he wanted to do a frame on custom cosmetic restoration with nothing but black & white inside and out!(I have pics from start to finish)Everything on this jeep was removed except for the motor & transmission! The body was in excellent condition w/ only one minor rust spot on the rear quarter panel. The jeep was painted 2011 ford white. For easy cleaning the interior was lined then painted to match. After the paint work was complete it was put on the lift & every single part on the undercarriage was removed. The under body was then coated w/ under coating for future protection. Front and rear differentials were disassembled,blasted,primed and painted then reassembled w/ all new seals,bearings,axles & u-joints in axles. Front & rear driveshafts blasted , painted , and new u-joints, All new brake rotors,calipers,pads,drums,wheel cylinder,hardware & steel braided brake lines. All new steering linkage and rod ends were also installed. A 2 1/2 inch skyjacker soft ride suspension was installed along w/ nitro shocks and new shackles. The jeep is riding on 31/10.50/15 goodyear MT/R w/ kevlar & MT classic 2 black aluminum wheels. Now back to the rest of the jeep. After the paint was cut & buffed we installed a special ordered black scrambler stripe package,all new kentrol black stainless hinges,paddle handles & mirrors were installed. Every rubber on this jeep was replaced along w/ tailgate cables & latches,rear LED lights, new side marker and parking lights,fender flares,fuel filler trim ect. I built front & rear custom bumpers. Rear is a swing away style the front is just a basic bumper w/ hella lights and roller fair lead added. It also has a 3/8 plate winch mount w/ a warn 8000 series winch. The floor of the Jeep was wire wheeled and coated with bed-liner before the factory carpet was reinstalled in the Jeep to prevent rust. The top is a very nice Best-top in perfect shape. It has a hardtop w/ full doors, bikini top, and factory A/C (which blows cold). It has had a lot of new parts in the last couple of years from the previous owner (have some of the receipts). Also the paperwork shows a new rebuilt engine in 09. I just ordered some parts that were missing when I bought it: locks for the doors, t-handle lock for hardtop, wiper arms w/blades, and the fuel filler hose (takes a while filling up). The interior of the Jeep is in great shape, no rust inside. All of the gauges work and it does have a newer radio. The outside had been treated by the PO and has a couple of surface spots, but not all the way through. The frame is in great shape, no rust that I have found. It has the inline six with four speed tranny. The tires have more than half tread left, maybe around 3/4 left. The size is 33\". The paint has not been redone since it was new, so it is faded. I drove this Jeep from VA where I bought it and it did fine and the A/C was cold the whole time. This is a CJ and it is 30 thirty years old, so it is not perfect. I put in new speakers that work great. The soft top is awesome because you can zip off the back windows for a nice breeze. You can also just take the entire top off in about 5-10 minutes. It comes with the fiberglass hard top, steel doors, half doors, spare tire rack (no spare tire), bikini top, front tow bar, and a soft top (very used). I put a layer of fiberglass on the floorboard, painted "Herculiner" inside the tub, sanded and painted the body, installed seats from a Camero, and put 33"X12.50R15LT Discover Cooper tires on. I rebuilt an AMC 258 (tumbled and bored 0.30), installed a "RV" cam shaft, headers, a "juice box" ignition system, power steering, new radiator and new Weber 2 brl carberator (all with 18,000 miles today). I then installed a rebuilt dana 300 transfer case and a rebuilt 5 speed T-5 Borg Warner gear box. All U-joints and break pads are new. I installed a battery kill switch for anti-theft. I have not yet undercoated the bottom. There is a small rust boil on the "jeep" stamp, driver side. I am in South Texas...and can possibly assist with delivery. |

There also have been holes drilled on both sides for snaps on a tonneau bed cover. At some point there has been a custom built oversized fuel tank installed,overload springs & receiver hitch in the rear.(see pics.)well i think that pretty much sums up this 30 year old jeep. This rarely seen jeep is called a "garage service jeep" and is shown in various early sales catalogs. Here are the details of the running gear: original 4 cylinder Hurricane 4 cylinder, T-98 granny low transmission, original dual wheel model 70 rear end, standard model 25 front end. When jeep built dual wheel models they normally had two different gear ratios front and rear and tried to make up for the difference with two different tire sizes on two different style rims. Originally there were 5.87 gears in the model 70 and 5.38 gears in the model 25 front. It didn't work out real well and a lot of duallys out there had broken gear sets. I have installed matching 4.88 gears front and rear and have used all the same rims and tires. Drives perfect with the 4.88's.
